Brownsville’s Resaca de la Palma State Park boasts the largest tract of native habitat in the World Birding Center network. Over eight miles of trails curve through 1,200 acres of Tamaulipan thornscrub, sugar hackberry, ebony-anacua and grasslands.

Four observation decks overlook the resaca. Resaca de la Palma is currently offering Birding Tours and Natural History Tours. Binoculars and bicycles are available for rent in the visitor center. To access Resaca de la Palma State Park, take Hwy. 77/83 to the FM 1732/ Olmito exit. Go west on FM 1732, and you will see a brown sign for Resaca de la Palma. Turn left (south) at New Carmen Blvd. and follow it 1.5 miles to the entrance for our park. Please check in at the visitor’s Center.
