Just in time for the holidays Brownsville’s Holiday Village officially opens to the public the first Monday of Thanksgiving week in November on the grounds at Dean Porter Park and stays open ‘til the end of the year. This year the Holiday Village will showcase over 25 cottages designed by local architects and constructed and decorated by individual sponsors and volunteers. Come see all your favorites: the Village Diner, Santa’s Hunt & Fishing Lodge, the historic Stillman House, the Cathedral, the Bank, the Dental Office, the General Store, the Village Sleigh Shop, the Bike Shop, Frosty Treats, the Bakery and more!
Open daily from 6:00 p.m. until the Park closes at 10:00 p.m., (11:00 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays), these quaint little cottages are completely decorated inside and out, and will be lit up brightly so the public can view each one as they stroll the grounds of Dean Porter Park in the center of Brownsville. There will be entertainment on the weekends by local choirs, bands, mariachis and dance groups. Plus, you can even have your picture taken with Santa at the Village on weekends! A truly unique experience for all. Admission is free; The Memories are Priceless!
