Brownsville’s festive ambience sets the mood for an exciting and fun vacation for the whole family. From our Charro Days festivities in February, to our Latin Jazz Festival in October, it’s no wonder Brownsville is Always a Fiesta!
“Borderlines: Drawing Border Lives” (Fronteras: Dibjuando las vidas fronterizas) pairs portraits of people who live and work along the U.S.- Mexico border with bilingual pomes that have been inspired by each of the drawings. By placing poetry and art side by side we invite you into a world of image and word, figure and figure of speech. Steven and Reefka Schneider have developed this traveling exhibit that consists of twenty-five framed portraits of people who live and work along the U.S./ Mexico border and twenty- five bilingual poems written in response to each portrait. The book will also be available for purchase at the museum.
Free admission and refreshments. For more information, call 956-548-1313.
