This event is open to all ages.

The long-awaited dinosaurs have returned, just in time for Spring Break!

This limited-time exhibit will be an additional $3.00 will be at the gate or the entrance of the exhibit, which is located in the Special Events building. Step back in time and witness the dinosaurs as they once were, only at the Gladys Porter Zoo.

Dawn of the Dinosaurs was made possible by the City of Brownsville, McDonald’s, and Metro by T-Mobile.

The Starlight Safari sleepover is at 6:30 pm on March 16th.

(Minimum Age: 7)

Hours: 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m (Thirty minute early drop off and late pick up can be arranged.

Everyone is invited to “hop” on over to the Zoo’s annual Bunny Corral and Easter Bazaar. Our Bunny Corral, a visitor favorite, will be open across from Small World. The bunnies will be available to pet and docents will be on hand to answer questions about the adorable animals. Visit the Easter Bazaar in the special events building where vendors will be displaying and selling their Easter crafts. All activities are free to visitors with paid admission or Zoo membership. Plus, on Easter Sunday, the first 50 children to visit the Zoo will receive a free foam bunny mask. For more information call the Gladys Porter Zoo at (956) 546-7187.

Animal Play Days are scheduled events where Zoo animals are given an enrichment item that has a specific theme. The theme for this Animal Play Day will be Easter! Keepers will hide Easter eggs for around the animals’ exhibits. Guests will be able to watch as the animals search for, find and interact with their treats. Animal enrichment provides novel food and play items to stimulate and entertain zoo inhabitants. It is performed on a daily basis at the Zoo and is a vital component essential to the health and well-being of our animal collection. Bring your children to learn and play at the Zoo! Texas Southmost College (TSC) students enrolled in the Teacher Education program will host a “Children’s Play Day” at the Gladys Porter Zoo in honor of the National Association for the Education of Young Children’s (NAEYC) Week of the Young Child™, which advocates for the importance of early- learning opportunities for all young children. Teacher Education students, under the direction of Dr. Cortez-Castro, will set up about 40 different play stations around the Zoo. This event is free with the purchase of general admission or Zoo membership.
