Tune up your wing-shooting skills on Saturday, August 18, 2018 before the Whitewing-Dove Season at the North Brownsville Rotary Club’s 11th Annual Whitewing Tune Up Shoot at Loma Alta Trap & Skeet Club on Old Port Isabel Road in Brownsville. Event starts at 9:00 AM. and proceeds go towards funding scholarships for area college-bound students with over $250,000.00 having been awarded since 1985.
Trophies awarded for 1st, 2nd & 3rd place teams and 1st, 2nd, & 3rd place individuals in Men’s, Women’s and Youth Divisions, plus Modified Lewis Class A, B, C & D winners. No experience is necessary as we have knowledgeable clay target shooters who will instruct you! Individual participants will be paired with others to make up squads of 5 shooters. Register at the event or entry forms are available from any club member and on the North Brownsville Rotary Club or Loma Alta’s Facebook pages.
Entry fee includes participation in a multi-station sporting clay course, BBQ meal, refreshments and lots of door prizes, like ice chests, wine basket, shotgun shells and beach gear. Adult entry fee includes entry into the $1,500.00 Guaranteed Payout Calcutta. Additional BBQ plates available for non-participants at $10.00 each. Practice rounds available on the Wednesday prior from 6 PM. until closing, at a special $6 per round.
Shotgun Raffle tickets available from club members at $10 each for a performance sporting clays shotgun – a new Browning Citori CS Over/Under 12 Gauge with 30” barrels and mid-rise rib site. 2nd and 3rd prizes are Unbearably Stong, Unbearably Cooler Kodi Ice Chests. Only 600 tickets will be sold.
Cost is Adult $100, Young under 18 yr old $50 and Team of 5 shooter $500.
