On Sunday, May 14th, the Zoo will participate in an international campaign to bring attention to the plight of orangutans in the wild. Staff will be giving enrichment items to the orangutans at different times throughout the day. Animal enrichment provides novel food and play items to stimulate and entertain zoo inhabitants. An educational booth will also be set up under the orangutan palapa. Donations will be accepted and all proceeds will go directly to the Missing Orangutan Mothers (M.O.M.) campaign. This event is free with the purchase of general admission or Zoo membership. For more information, call (956) 546-7187.
