“Los Charros En El Cine Mexicano” Exhibit @ Historic Brownsville Museum, Mary Yturria Education Center | Brownsville | Texas | United States

Featuring Freddy Peralta’s personal collection, this special exhibition brings together some of the best cinema posters on Charro themes in Mexican cinematography. The exhibition allows us to view the historical evolution of this national emblem by presenting original posters of the first decade of the industrial emergence of the 30s, the consolidation of the golden age of the 40s and 50s and the decline of the 60s, 70s and 80s. Stars like Jorge Negrete, Pedro Infante, Pedro Armendariz, Tito Guizar, Luis Aguilar, Raul de Anda, Antonio Aguilar and Vicente Fernandez, among others, played the role of charro in unforgettable films like “Alla en El Rancho Grande” (1936), “El Fanfarron” (1938), “El Charro Negro” (1940), “La Venganza del Charro Negro” (1941), “I am Charro de Rancho Grande” (1947) and “Charro a la Fuerza” (1948). Join us and capture the spirit of the Charro!
