About Karla Miranda:
The arts has been a lifelong interest where she began teaching herself to paint with influences from Golden Age illustration, fantasy, and science fiction illustration of the 1960-70s, the old masters and contemporary realist painters. She graduated from The University of Texas at Brownsville in 2010, and decided she would pursue further study in Europe. There she traveled and cemented her adoration for time honored drawing and painting techniques, particularly artworks of the Baroque period and 19th Century Academic art. She now resides in South Texas where she lives and works in her own private studio.
