Heart Gallery of the Rio Grande Valley @ Children's Museum of Brownsville | Brownsville | Texas | United States

Here at Children’s Museum of Brownsville, our top priority has always been to provide a safe, educational, and fun environment in which both children and their families can create long-lasting memories with one another.

However, there are children who are still waiting to meet the people who they will be able to call families of their own, as well as families searching for a child with whom they can forge a strong familial bond. In fact, as of 2015, a staggering 74.3% of children in the Texas foster care system are between the ages of 1 and 13 years old. No matter the circumstances, no matter the walks of life they may have come from, every child deserves the chance to experience the joy of childhood and the warmth of a caring and supportive family.

As November is National Adoption Month, we are fortunate to once again host the annual Heart Gallery of the Rio Grande Valley in conjunction with the Rotary Club of Historic Brownsville and the Department of Family Protective Services. The museum’s auditorium will display of dozens of portraits of local children and sibling groups who are seeking adoption. Should you decide to look into the adoption process or are unsure of how it works, representatives from Family Protective Services will be on hand to answer any and all questions.

The event is free and open to the public on Thursday, November 2nd, and the portraits will remain on display in the auditorium until December 31st. We urge those of you who have considered the notion of adoption to stop by, view the portraits, and ask questions. This holiday season, you could be the one to give a young child the greatest gift of all: family.
