The Brownsville Historical Association is pleased to announce the newest temporary exhibit at the Historic Alonso Building that is sure to make Valentine’s Day a little bit sweeter, the Chocolat Art Exhibition. The South Texas Women Artists group celebrate Cupid’s day with a series of paintings dedicated to chocolate, love, romance, and our obsession with them.

An opening wine reception for the exhibit will begin at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 4 at the Historic Alonso Building. Guests will be able to meet and greet with the artists on display and theywill enjoy an evening of fantastic art and a reception perfect for any sweet tooth. This reception is sponsored in part by Feldman’s Market Center, Gazpachos, and the Mexican Consulate and will feature chocolate martinis, artisan chocolates from Mexico, and savory and sweet hors d’oeuvres.

The exhibit will run through February 25, 2012. The Historic Alonso Building is open by appointment, Tuesday through Saturday, 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. For more information about this exhibit, contact the BHA at the Alonso Building at 956-554-4965 or visit us at www.brownsvillehistory.org.
