The BCVB staff is available to assist groups and planners with organizing meetings and conventions in Brownsville. The Bureau serves as a liaison resource between organizers and Brownsville's meeting services by providing these services.

Advertising & Destination Information:
More than one hundred print advertisements are produced and placed
in targeted markets from Mexico to Canada to increase awareness
and to generate inquiries for Brownsville travel information. In
the year beginning October 2006, approximately 60,000 Official Visitors
Guides were direct mailed to requestors.
Visitor Services:
The BCVB staff and volunteers operate the Brownsville Visitors Information
Center at 650 Ruben M Torres Blvd. on the north entrance to Brownsville.
Membership:
The Brownsville Convention & Visitors Bureau, Inc., (BCVB) is a membership-based organization that offers the following services to its members:
BCVB members are given the opportunity to bring their literature into the
Brownsville Information Center
BCVB members may link their website to the Brownsville CVB website
BCVB members have the opportunity to participate at tradeshows that the BCVB
attends
All BCVB members are given first priority when visitors ask about where to
go and what to do in Brownsville
BCVB members receive a FREE complete listing in the annual Brownsville Official
Visitors Guide
Yearly membership rates start at a $125 for individual businesses and vary
depending in the type of organization. If you would like to learn more about

Sales and Promotions:
Professional sales staff and contracted services promote Brownsville as a
travel destination to consumers, travel agents, tour operators, meeting planners,
and group travel organizers. Trade shows, electronic and print material distribution,
and sales trips are part these functions.
Communications:
Events and festivals information is continuously collected for dissemination
to travel editors, publications, and media in key market areas. Newsletters
and special purpose communications are generated as needed.

The mission of the Brownsville Convention & Visitors Bureau is to promote leisure and business travel to Brownsville and to increase the awareness of Brownsville as a vacation destination utilizing these programs and services.
Familiarization Tours and Site Inspections
The BCVB works in coordination with the Texas Economic Development Tourism
Division and independently to raise the awareness of travel professionals by
organizing trips to Brownsville to see and visit our facilities and services.
Toll-Free Information Line:
The Bureau maintains a toll-free information line valid from around the USA
and Canada for the trade and consumers. A toll-free line is available from
Mexico.
Official Brownsville Visitors Guide:
The BCVBs primary print guide is the Official Brownsville Visitors Guide
with a total annual circulation of more than 175,000 copies in two languages.
Collateral Materials:
The BCVB produces both electronic and print meeting planner guides. The Visit
Brownsville enticement brochure presents a general destination overview. The
Brownsville Nature Attractions brochure is a niche piece that describes the
Ecotourism offerings. The Brownsville Cultural & Historical Attractions
brochure details the heritage offerings.
Internet:
The BCVB has developed this web site with comprehensive and informative approach
to destination travel information. Keep checking back for updates and new
information.
Festivals Development:
The BCVB supports various festivals through marketing as a means to increasing
overnight visitation.
